Generically Blonde. Authentically America.
Who is Generic Blonde?
Generic Blonde was born and raised in California, by two middle class 70’s hippies, raised on common American ideas of “treat others as you want to be treated”. They’d say, “Nothing will be handed to you. Work hard and you will be successful, always be proud to be American”.
Her father, an Authentically American man, came home every night sweaty after a long day of work, and still managed to tell her, “You’re the strongest smartest, most beautiful girl”. Now, she is the mom to four daughters, and never really had any political ideas of her own to begin with. “Hope” was the political climate in 2008 and Generic Blonde was full of it too.
She watched as her daughters grow older, they began to venture out into the world, a world full of ideas and moral values that didn’t seem to align with the ones from her childhood. The ideas of family, perseverance, and accepting responsibility for your own actions all seemed to be radically shifting before her eyes. She could remain silent no longer. Almost overnight she was deeply politically engaged.
Where has the value of a whole family gone?
Where has the value of raising good humans gone?
Where has the value of being allowed to voice your opinion and still being able to have friends who have different ones gone?
When did being a good mother and wife make you less of a feminist?
When did I have to apologize for not being successful?
When did we start having to apologize for being American?
When did girls become less capable than boys?
When did we all get so easily offended?
When did people become so hateful?
When did “Generic American” ideas become “Right Wing Radical”
In a world where the noise is louder than ever before, conservative women cannot afford to be silent any longer. We know you are out there, we know you are tired of feeling like your ideas don’t belong, like your ideas about life don’t have a place in this world. We, as conservative women, need to speak and act with more purpose now than ever.
Let your voice be heard!
